It was centuries ago, I was seven and fell in love with a boy. We ran around the countryside playing games and holding hands and kissing. Then one night we decided to spend the night together. In the morning, my parents came into the room with a rage. They told us that we were not allowed to be together or ever see each other again. The boy was my brother. My family left me behind and took the boy with them, leading him to exile on the other side of the world. I began my search for them. I crossed rivers and meadows and I began to climb a mountain. I found a clearing in the mountain where the water was crystal clear. I followed the stream up and saw a little black girl holding her head underwater. I ran up to her to make sure she wasn't drowning, and pulled her up from the freezing water. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" she yelled. I explained that I was trying to save her, and she snapped back it was part of her clans ritual, and she would have to start all over again. I asked if I could join her clan or if they could help me find my family. She laughed and told me to walk on. I began to run through the rivers and ended up in a marsh. Alligators. Everywhere. They thrashed and snapped at my feet and I dodged and continued to run.
I made it up into the snowy part of the mountain, my feet freezing, I trudged on. Then the snow below my feet would shift and snow alligators came wriggling their way towards me. I tried to out run them, but they were like a massive avalanche of alligators, at last I reached a cliff and jumped.
I found myself at the steps of an enormous castle. I entered. Inside there was a man on a thrown and people were groveling at his feet, asking Mozart to play them some musical piece to put their town at ease. I took out my camera and snapped a photo without anyone's notice and continued up the spiral staircase. As I reached the top I saw an expansive science fiction library of paperback books. It was so bright and colorful and reached from the floor to the ceiling. I snapped another photo. In the corner there was a dark area, I approached it and saw that it was another smaller library. A sign read "English and Fine Arts. Untouchable Books" Apparently these were off limits. I turned around and there was a girl pulling out some of the science fiction books and a cat was kissing her nose. I snapped another picture, but my camera jammed.
Wake.
