End of the World

This one was from a while ago, but its one of my favorites-

I was sitting on a hill with a friend and we were looking at the sun which was ridiculously large. The moon was passing over it and looked like a little black dot (odd eclipse I suppose). All of a sudden the sun got super bright and we could see the flames flying off of its surface. 

Then everything went dark.

The sun had gone out.

People panicked and ran about screaming "ITS THE END OF THE WORLD!!!" "WERE ALL GOING TO FREEZE". Newspapers  were flying around with headlines that crops would soon be dying and the government was drastically trying to figure out a new life energy source.

Then tentacles started to weave in through the city. They went through the streets, through the buildings, starting to cover everything. People continued to panic. I shrugged my shoulders, "its the end of the world... no use freaking out." 

I wandered past my coffee shop, where my boss Dharmi told me that I still had to make coffee for people. I then became very angry and yelled at him, "WHO THE HELL IS GOING TO BUY COFFEE AT A TIME LIKE THIS?" Dharmi shrugged and insisted I continue working as a tentacle ran through the shop.
